Architectural Editorial Review
Soviet Bus Stops is an extraordinary photo book capturing the eclectic and imaginative bus stop designs across former Soviet republics by Christopher Herwig. Published by FUEL on September 21, 2015, it boasts 192 pages of stunning photography that showcases the architectural creativity from the 1970s and 1980s. The book's blend of styles—ranging from modernist to brutalist—offers readers a glimpse into the soul of Soviet-era design. Many find it a fascinating coffee table book that surprises viewers with its beauty and the stories behind these seemingly mundane structures. While some suggest a larger format for the photos, the current editions still hold immense charm for anyone intrigued by quirky architecture or Soviet history.
