- In November 1966, Ernesto Che Guevara and several of his comrades traveled to Bolivia to lead a guerrilla movement against the military dictatorship in the country. The Bolivian Diary tells the story of the struggle of Che and his comrades under really harsh conditions, the story of a guerrilla group of dedicated young people who want to fight for freedom or for it until they die. Che Guevara wrote the Boliya Diary in the mountains, fighting the CIA-backed Bolivian army, hunger and asthma. But as we read the diary, we see that, despite everything, he always focuses on the goal, not on his own pain or difficulties. Che was constantly re-evaluating his political and military situation and determining the next move.Commander Che's leadership in the face of increasing challenges is extraordinary. Che continues to focus on the big picture, the revolution, and the long-term goal, even if they never know when they'll ever eat again. The diary itself reveals Che as a true revolutionary leader without any additional praise.Che and his comrades were wounded, captured and massacred by special warfare units of the Bolivian army trained by CIA agents and American experts. This diary, written in illegible doctor's writing on a small agenda, was on Che at the time. Although they were wanted to be censored and even destroyed by the CIA, their photographs were taken and recorded. The diary itself was kept in a safe by the Bolivian army for years.
