Action & Adventure Editorial Review
In this Criterion Collection edition of Thief, Michael Mann's 1981 masterpiece, we follow the story of ex-con and professional thief, Frank (played by James Caan), as he plans to start a family and leave his criminal past behind. However, things don't go as smoothly as planned, and Frank finds himself caught up in a web of deceit and betrayal. The reviews for this edition of Thief are overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the film's transfer and sound quality. Fans of Michael Mann will appreciate this early work, which foreshadows many of his later themes and techniques. Some reviewers note the film's slow pace but appreciate its believability and emphasis on craftsmanship.
