The Dualcomm ETAP-2003 is an excellent addition to any incident response go bag. It is a simple layer 2 switch with a hardware mirrored port, making it great for capturing packets on the wire. It works with any Ethernet cable, but not with coax cables. With no power, it won't pass traffic. Users have not experienced any network degradation with this tap. It can pass POE and achieve gigabit speeds. It is full duplex and forwards all network traffic except for corrupt packets.
