Answer: I can only estimate it, I am able to do a double knot, therefore it’s quite adequate and it’s also a sturdy lace, very strong. -

Answer: A little larger. However, it is better to ensure you get the pictured style of the shoe you purchase to get the correct size and comfort. -

Does this shoe have a steel shank that will set off airport metal detector?
Answer: It hasn’t yet in my experience. The shoelaces are fat, though, and they don’t stay tied, even when double-knotted. That means you’ll find yourself tripping over shoe laces when running between terminals.

They fit true to size and are made with full-grain leather which does take some time to break in. The molded rubber sole can be a bit slippery at first but will wear down with time. They are less dressy than expected, making them suitable for casual wear, but not ideal for formal occasions.
