This Denon receiver has a variety of easily adjustable settings that can be set as a default. Most of the functions can be controlled via the buttons on the unit, including on/off, input, volume and sound type, with the exception of navigating the UI which requires the remote. The pre-out on the unit is used for the Surround Back or Front Height amp assignment. As for audio, the TV's speakers can be used, but it is not recommended as the receiver's real speakers provide much better sound quality. Looking at the reviews, most people are satisfied with the quality of the receiver and state that it is worth its price for the quality it offers. However, some users have experienced issues with the receiver dying after only a few years of use. There are also complaints about its high price.
