Olympus Computer Microphones RM4010P Editorial Review
The OLYMPUS RecMic II RM-4010P Push Button Microphone offers excellent performance, with a few software issues that may affect its usability with certain programs. The microphone itself is of high quality and provides clear dictation. However, the software used, particularly with Dragon NaturallySpeaking, seems to have compatibility issues with Windows 11. When trying to program the microphone's record button to begin dictation, it defaults to inserting a "+" symbol in the document instead of recording. This problem was experienced on multiple computers running Windows 11 Professional. It is unclear whether an update to the software is needed or if this issue can be resolved in another way. Overall, if the software issue is not a deal-breaker for you, the OLYMPUS RecMic II RM-4010P Push Button Microphone offers a cost-effective option compared to the Philips SpeechMike. Customers have reported satisfactory performance when using it for radiology reporting with Mmodal. However, it is worth noting that some customers have had difficulties setting up the microphone with certain software, such as DMPE.
