Answer: I don't believe so. I have the red one and my brother-in-law has a carbon fiber and both are the same. -

Can I read dc amp with this tool? My battery drains overnight and I need to find the source.
Answer: No, this is not an Ammeter. This tool is for checking power or ground related issues in circuits. You can look up YouTube videos on how to use a power probe to find what you are experiencing (called a parasitic load/draw). I use this tool daily and just ordered a second one so I am not without one (My current tool needs to be sent in for repairs - too many times being dropped or slid along the floor, the LEDs stopped working).
