Whirlpool Bathtub Drains 388253 Editorial Review
The Whirlpool 388253 Neutral Drain Kit is a genuine product and fits several models of Whirlpool, Roper and Kenmore washers with the direct drive transmission. The kit includes the spin gear, and it is capable of fixing issues related to the gearcase only. Customers have reported that the neutral drain kit resolved issues with slipping into spin and a no-spin condition. The installation process can be messy, but the parts are of good quality and functioned like the original parts. The job requires removing the old gear-case oil and cleaning the surfaces to improve the washer's operation. One customer recommended watching YouTube for instructions as the kit does not come with any.
