The epoxy dries clear, making it perfect for filling small holes and scratches in wood projects. Surfaces coated with the epoxy can be sanded down to a flat surface, providing a professional finish. The product has a working time of about 20 minutes, allowing users to work on small projects in batches. Rubbing alcohol can be used as a thinner, but only a few drops are needed. While it is perfect for filling small gouges and scratches, it is not meant for filling larger holes or gaps. Customers who used it as a grain filler for guitar projects were impressed with Z-Poxy Finishing Resin. It dries to sand in about 3 hours, eliminating the need to wait overnight for grain filler to dry. However, it is not completely clear in color which detracts from the overall appearance of the finished product.
