The speaker fits exactly into an 8 inch hole with a 1/2 inch lip where screw mounts are. One customer used it as a replacement for their outdoor powered subwoofer and it worked great. Another customer installed it in an old amplified subwoofer cabinet and it brought it back to life. However, another customer claimed that it blew out after just two months of use and may not perform well as a free air subwoofer. The speaker costs around $30.
