Since this device apparently requires a Netgear cloud account to manage it, what happens if you try to configure it without Internet access?
Answer: Nothing. Just remember the user name and password you created for it and you can still log in through the cloud. -

Do you need the paid subscription to Netgear's Insight in order to manage this switch as one reviewer said or is that for remote management?
Answer: You don't absolutely need it at this point, but if you don't have it and want to use your switch, you have to block its internet connection to log in. Even if you do that, set it all up, and then give it internet, it will block you and badger for an insight login. -

How many us is the unit and how many watts does it consume out of the wall?
Answer: Maximum wall power consumed with maximum power draw permitted on PoE ports is a total of 228.5 watts. The number of rack spaces the unit occupies is 1. -

Can these not be used if it's registered under another person's name?
Answer: Even if the switch is registered under a different person's name, it should have no effect on the switch functioning normally. -

Does this switch use DHCP?
Answer: Yes, if it can access the DHCP Server during boot-up. Otherwise, it defaults to an IP that you can find in the admin guide. -

What size server rack will this fit into?
Answer: The dimensions of the GS724TP switch are 440 x 257 x 43 mm (17.3 x 10.1 x 1.6 in). It includes a rackmount kit. -
Question:
I have a Netgear Nighthawk X10 R9000 (including SPF port). Can I connect X10's SPF to this switch's SPF?
Answer: Yes, you should be able to. The Netgear switch has an SPF+ port. Just match up the correct SPF+ module to communicate between the switches.
