CDI Electronics 182-4475R Chrysler/Force/Sears/Gamefinder Ignition Coil - 2/3/4/5 Cyl (1981-1992) The CDI Electronics 182-4475R ignition coil is a replacement part suitable for Chrysler/Force/Sears/Gamefinder Prestolite CD ignition systems. According to the CLYMER Force outboard shop manual and charts provided by CDI Electronics, this ignition coil can be used with circular magnet, alternator stator, trigger stator, stator ring, or throttle cam systems from these brands. The metal plate of the part functions as the ground, and a ground wire must be properly routed from the mounting plate to the engine block. The parts must never be run without spark plugs and should always be grounded to the engine ground before timing the engine. This CDI Electronics ignition coil model is a direct replacement for original coils used in these engines, although it may require trimming the spark plug boots to fit. The original coil wires are also barely long enough but can be cut to fit the new connections. Some users reported having to reroute the bottom coil wire for fitting, and other reviews noted that the part fit a little crookedly on the bracket. Overall, this product has a positive customer reception, with many happy boat owners reporting easy replacement and improved performance in the engine. However, an isolated review noted that the part did not work correctly due to trigger advance issues.
