How can I tell if the w is for wide shoe?
Answer: When I click on the link for Merrell Women's Moab 2 Vent, and click on the Size drop down, the sizes are listed either with just a size number (meaning regular width), or with the size number followed by the word Wide. Example: 6, 6 Wide, 7, 7 Wide, etc. -

If I'm usually an 8 1/2 and sometimes a 9 in athletic shoes, what size should I order?
Answer: I'm a size 6 but I ordered a 6 1/2 and they fit great with socks! They are really comfortable. I was able to walk over 4 miles the first time I wore them with no issues. -

Answer: It' is definitely not brown. More of a gray tone with a slight tint of olive green. I've been very happy with it. -

Answer: Yes. I wear a 6 1/2 shoe size but get running and hiking shoes in 7 1/2. These hikers fit as I expected. There is space for my toes.
