The Clay Water Pitcher with Cup is a great choice for those who want to keep their water cool and refreshing. Made in Turkey, these terracotta mud jugs come with a mug and platter and are perfect for drinking water. With a 74 oz capacity, the jars and cups are much larger than expected, but the neck of the bottle is small, only about 3 fingers wide. It is recommended to wash the jar with plain water and immerse it in water for 24 hours before first use, and later let it completely dry first, then put water for drinking. The color is a warm terracotta finish that imbues a darker color than orange. The saucer seems to be a new, and needed addition to the pitcher. It was not available when the reviewer purchased it. Because the pitcher is clay, it is very susceptible to condensed water leaking out of the pitcher. However, having the saucer is a huge benefit. Although it may sweat, it appears to sweat more in well air-circulated dark places.
