Rikon Polishers & Buffers 81-608 Editorial Review
The Rikon 8 inches Low Speed Buffer 1750 Rpm is a reliable and efficient tool for buffing and polishing various materials. It is a light-duty unit that is suitable for use in a home shop. The fit and finish of the product are excellent, indicating good craftsmanship. One of the standout features of this buffer is its low speed, which ensures that the edges of the material being worked on do not heat up quickly. This is particularly beneficial for users who need to polish wood carving tools or sharpen knives. The buffer can also be used with leather strops and grinding rocks, providing versatility in its applications. While the Rikon buffer is not the most powerful option on the market, it performs well for its specifications. Users have reported being able to buff and polish trim on a car without any issues. However, it should be noted that the buffer can get a little warm after extended periods of operation. Some customers have reported receiving damaged or used equipment, which is a major drawback. These instances include receiving a buffer that was obviously a return from someone else and missing wheels. This raises concerns about the product's quality control and customer service. Overall, the Rikon 8 inches Low Speed Buffer 1750 Rpm offers a reliable option for individuals looking for a low-speed buffer for their buffing and polishing needs. It is particularly suitable for sharpening knives and polishing sharp objects due to its low speed.
