The audio adapter board is a shield made specifically to work with Teensy 4.0 and 4.1 Microcontroller Development boards. It allows the playing of audio from an SD card with ease. The SD card can have a maximum capacity of 32 GB. It is essential to note that the SD library does not support the 64 & 128 GB cards. Also, the performance of common "class 10" SD cards can be poor when playing multiple WAV files simultaneously. However, the manufacturer recommends the SanDisk Ultra brand, which performs better for non-sequential access and has a faster non-sequential speed, making it ideal for projects that require the playing of multiple WAV files at once.
