If you want razor-sharp knives at home, the Lansky Professional Sharpening System might be just what you need. This kit is perfect for anyone who wants to take their dull blades and turn them into razor-sharp instruments, but has little experience in sharpening knives. It's easy to use and comes with a range of stones to help you get the sharpest edge possible. The system does need patience and practice but, with a bit of effort, you should be able to get good results every time. However, the blades may not be as durable as they would be if they were less sharp. Even Japanese knives can be sharpened to a razor level using this system. This kit can be used with all types of knives, even the longer kitchen knives. But it may not be practical for sharpening short and thick curved blades, like those on some secateurs. The rods in the system are a little sloppy, which some users might find annoying.
